• Food Safety Listening Session - October 19, 2009 - Ohio Department of Agriculture - 9:00am-12:00noon. No RSVP is needed. This event is for producers, growers, vendors, managers, and community development leaders.

  • Discuss the latest issues with food safety and listen to a knowledgable panel of speakers: Bob Jones, Ohio Producer Growers and Markets Association, Doug Doohan, Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center, Karl Kolb, The High Sierra Group, and Chuck Kirshner, ODA Division of Food Safety
    
    
• Sharing Best Practices - November 17, 2009 - Ohio Department of Agriculture - 9:00am-2:00pm. Cost for this workshop will be $20 for FMMN members and $25 for non-members and includes lunch.

  • This workshop will be a roundtable discussion with various farmers' markets across the state sharing best practices. Add your input by sharing your practices with others. New or potential market managers are encouraged to attend to learn how to grow your markets.
    
    
• How to Recruit Vendors - December 16, 2009 - Ohio Department of Agriculture - 9:00am-2:00pm. Cost for this workshop will be $20 for FMMN members and $25 for non-members and includes lunch.

  • One of the biggest concerns with farmers' markets across the state is the need for more vendors. This workshop will focus on how to recruit vendors and how to make your market enticing to retain vendors.
    
    
• Food Safety and Using EBT Machines - February 17, 2010 Ohio Department of Agriculture - 9:00am-2:00pm. Cost for this workshop will be $20 for FMMN members and $25 for non-members and includes lunch.

  • Market managers and vendors should be aware of food safety issues, the latest regulations, potential for food borne illness outbreaks, and resources you can utilize to educate consumers about food safety. In addition, how to utilize EBT machines and how this can benefit your market will be discussed.
